Lisa & Mahesh

We recently had the honor of coordinating Lisa & Mahesh's beautiful wedding! We loved working with Joy Marie Photography and she was so sweet to send us these gorgeous images from their day!

The day was full of romance, starting with an emotional first look.

The flowers by Keith Watson Productions were so colorful and looked stunning against the bright blue dresses!

After their ceremony at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, here in Gainesville, Florida, they headed off to take pictures with some of our majestic oaks in the area.

Their reception was held at the Florida Museum of Natural History and deliciously catered by Sweetwater Branch Inn. It's such a great and unique venue here in town. For those who don't know, they have an amazing Butterfly Rainforest. Cocktail hour was held right at the entrance and Lisa & Mahesh arranged for their guests to be able to enjoy the gardens and all the butterflies throughout cocktails.

Butterflies showed up throughout the night, incorporated on their escort cards, favors, and even on their beautiful centerpieces by Keith Watson Productions.

Their first dance was "I Want to Grow Old with You" from the Wedding Singer!!! It was one of my favorite details of the day!!!

Gyns Entertainment kept the party going all night!

Head over here to check out the entire highlight reel from Joy Marie Photography that has the stunning images from their Indian Ceremony the following morning.

Congratulations Lisa & Mahesh! We loved getting to be a part of your day and know you'll have many happy years together!

Navy and Pale Pink Inspiration

One of our brides recently came to us looking for a little help visualizing her color scheme. We put together this inspiration board and thought it was so utterly romantic that we wanted to share it with you too.

Tie, Tablescape, Bride, Bouquet, Favors, Shoes, Cake, Sign

Our bride loved the combination of dark navy with pale pink because she thinks it's the perfect combination of masculine and feminine. We agree!

What do you think of the colors together?

Uberbooth!

This past Sunday was the Fairytale Bridal Show and we had a blast meeting so many wonderful couples!

One of the biggest hits of the show was Uberbooth! They were set up right next to us, so of course we got in on the action too! We had to see what all the fun was about!

Uberbooth is a photo booth company here in Gainesville, Florida. They have great packages to choose from and can even create custom backdrops and props for your event! Couples were having the best time playing with all the different options on their prop table on Sunday.

The camera tells you exactly when to smile and guests get three awesome images printed!

All the images are online for you to view (and laugh at!). Check out the hysterical images from Sunday's event here.

Photo booths are such fun things to have at any event and are crazy popular at weddings right now too. They make super fun favors for your guests and give you a great guestbook that you'll love looking back on for years to come.

So head on over to their website and check out Uberbooth!

Oh! And the amazingly talented ladies at Graceful Strands TOTALLY stole our props! We're on to you!!! ;)

Are you having a photo booth at your next event?

Eliminating Back Butt

One of my dear, dear friends and author of the amazing Awesometastic Bridal Blog just posted a blog about this and I had to totally steal share it with you!

via the Awesometastic Bridal Blog
Notice anything wrong with the picture? True, the gown is gorgeous (thank you Style Me Pretty), but look at what's happening at the top: the zipper's giving her a back butt!

No bride wants that on her wedding day!

Photo-shop and a skilled photographer can fix a whole lot, but it doesn't change the fact that you walked around like that all day...

The fix is super easy. All you need to do is have a special lady (bonus points if it's your wedding planner!) or really anyone, slide their hand down your back and smooth it, slide their hand from side to side... and it's gone! (or at least drastically minimized)

Thanks Melissa for the great insider tip! ;)

Vows Cake

Vows are a huge part of any wedding, but I feel like they tend to get overlooked in the grand scheme of things. With all the details that go into planning a wedding, it seems like sometimes the commitment that's at the core of it gets lost in the shuffle occasionally.

Then I found this cake on Pinterest and knew I had never seen anything like it before!

Vows Cake via Ruffled
They had their vows written onto the cake!

I love how it makes the commitment to each other the focus at the reception as well. And it looks so pretty too! What a neat effect - the dimension it creates is beautiful!

For all our couples out there - remember to not sweat the small stuff (that's what we're here for!!!). Remember at the end of all the crazy planning, you're marrying your best friend - and that's the most important detail of any wedding!

Happy Planning!

A Little Friday Romance

I just LOVE this line in the lyrics of the song!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your weekend is full of romance and happiness!

I think the little heart over the wedding day is priceless!

This would be the perfect addition to your bed linens after the big day. What a sweet reminder of your wedding (and the perfect way to never forget an anniversary!!!) ;)

What is your Ring Bearer carrying down the aisle?

Romantic Wedding Present from Grooms

Guys - this one's for you!

One of my favorite parts about my amazing job is getting to hear all the different proposal stories of my couples. Every story is unique and so special to each of them. My romantic heart sighs every time!

Which is exactly why this idea is THE PERFECT romantic gift!

Engagement Photo Wedding Gift via Dream Wedding Ideas
This groom had someone take pictures of their engagement and kept it a secret from his bride. He had them framed and given to her the morning of their wedding day!!!!

Talk about Groom of the Year!

It would be hard to find a more meaningful gift. I am just completely in love with this idea!

What types of gifts are you giving to each other on your wedding day?

Something Unexpectedly Blue

I came across this on The Brass Paperclip Project and couldn't resist talking about it - it's a Seersucker Wedding Gown!

Seersucker Wedding Gown via The Brass Paperclip Project
I have to admit, I'm kinda loving it! I'm conflicted though because I don't know if I could give up the idea of a dreamy white dress, if it was me.

This is just so pretty though and still completely bridal. It would be perfect for a beach, garden, or more casual wedding. I love all the pick-ups and how light the shade of blue is too.

You could completely run with the seersucker idea and incorporate it throughout the wedding in so many different ways.

What do you think? Comment and weigh in! Could you buck tradition with this gorgeous gown, or are you a classically white/off-white gown girl?

Circular Seating at Wedding Ceremonies

Circular seating at ceremonies is a new trend emerging in weddings, and one of our couples this coming Spring will be using it at their beautiful outdoor ceremony in April! We couldn't be more excited!

The circle symbolizes unity and eternity, making it a perfect fit for wedding ceremonies. It can even reinforce the idea of family by having your closest family members within the inner circle. They'll feel as if they're truly apart of your wedding with their special seating.

In addition, everyone gets a great view! Instead of having some guests way in the back trying to catch a glimpse over someone's head, setting up a 360 degree view means less chairs so far away.

This spiral is so cool!  Can you imagine walking down such a beautiful long aisle? You would get a special moment with each guest as you pass them.

What do you think? Is a circular ceremony right for you?

DIY Colorful Crinoline

For anyone out there who was inspired by Wednesday's Colorful Crinoline post, here's the perfect thing for you!

Colorful Crinoline via The Brass Paperclip Project
We found this great tutorial for how to dye your own crinoline on The Brass Paperclip Project. There's all different links for different types of fabrics and for if you want to use store-bought or create your own natural dye. You have a range of options, depending on the fabric your particular crinoline is made of.

It's too late for me to do this for my own wedding (oh how I wish I would have thought of it though!!!) So pick your favorite color and get to it for your own!

What do you think? What color would you have peeking out from under your dress?

Colorful Crinoline

I'm becoming rapidly obsessed with this amazing trend I've been stumbling across lately - Colorful Crinolines under bridal gowns!

They add the sweetest pop of unique color! I love how unexpected they are too!

AND....I'm thinking they make one of the best "something blue's" that I've seen!

They strike me as so romantic. I simply can't wait for my first bride with a colorful crinoline under her dress!!!

Any takers?!?! :)

Outdoor Weddings and Heels

With this lovely fall weather approaching, outdoor weddings are simply gorgeous events! Some of the most beautiful ceremonies and receptions MasterPiece has been apart of were outdoor, and we are all for these locations!

With ceremonies being held outside, the bride and bridesmaids heels can potentially create a dilemma. Nobody wants to be sinking into the grass and staining the stunning heals they paid a fortune for! We found a solution to this problem that helps keeps heels from sinking into the ground!

Ceremony Stepping Stones for Bridesmaids

How cute are these tiny stepping stones for bridesmaids to stand on during the ceremony!? No sinking into the ground, plus what a cute photo-op!

OR....

How about these heel stoppers! Even if your ceremony isn't outside, you'll most likely still want some outdoor photos. These are so easy for the bride and bridesmaids to slip on and off when outside!

Heel Stoppers for Outdoor Photos

What are some other ways you've seen brides and bridesmaids deal with this problem during a ceremony or picture-taking?
